TWO MEN IN their 30s are due to appear in court in Trim, Meath after drugs worth €7 million were seized this week.

Gardaí uncovered over €7 million worth of cannabis and cocaine hidden in two storage units in Ashbourne on Wednesday.

A number of people were arrested both here and in the Netherlands, as part of an international investigation targeting gangland crime.

Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll told RTÉ that gardaí wouldn’t be identifying “any particular crime gang” involved in this raid, adding that “it may be a conglomerate of crime gangs” working together.

The two men in their 30s are due to appear at a sitting of Trim District Court at 9am this morning.
