Body discovered by police investigating disappearance of 13-year-old Amber Peat

She was last seen at her home in Nottinghamshire on Saturday.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR missing 13-year-old Amber Peat have this evening found a body.

Nottinghamshire Police said in a statement this evening that Amber’s family has been informed.

The police asked that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.

Officers are at the scene in Mansfield and enquiries are on-going.

No formal identification has yet taken place. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

The police thanked the public for their assistance.

Amber had been missing from her home in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire at about 5.30pm on Saturday.

Amber’s father Danny Peat made an appeal at a press conference earlier, stating Amber is “a real home girl”.

“She doesn’t go out – all she wants to do is read a book. She would read 24 hours a day if you let her.”
