Two men die in separate accidents at quarry and farm

One took place in Monaghan, the other in Wexford.

TWO MEN HAVE died in workplace accidents, one in Wexford and another in Monaghan.

Gardaí were called to the scene of an incident took place before 10am this morning at Killyvane, Co Monaghan.

The man in his 70s was working at a quarry, it is understood.

Gardaí say he was rushed to Cavan General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No foul play is suspected.

Meanwhile in Wexford, a man in his 80s died in an accident on a farm earlier today.

The incident took place at roughly 11.20am near The Boola in Adamstown.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to Waterford University Hospital, where a post mortem will take place.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) is investigating both incidents.
