Motorcycle driver killed in Sligo crash

The man in his early 30s died when his motorcycle crashed in the village of Easkey this afternoon.

A MAN IN his early 30s has been killed in a road traffic collision in Sligo this afternoon.

The motorcyclist was driving in the village of Easkey when the crash occurred at around 2.30pm this afternoon. The man was fatally injured in the collision.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The scene of the accident is currently sealed off for examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.

  • Rip, still cant figure out what people see in motor bikes, you could be the best driver in the world but nobody knows what the person comming towards them is going to do or what condition the roads are in till its to late,

    • @keiran, most motorcyclists love the freedom and the feeling of being involved with the journey – as opposed to insulated from it in a car.
      There’s a saying that 4 wheels transport the body, 2 wheels transport the soul.

      I do have to agree that road conditions and driver behaviour are the cause of most motorcycle accidents – worryingly the first words many of us hear are “Sorry, I never saw you!”.
      My thoughts and prayers are with this motorcyclist and his friends & family at this time.
