Motorcyclist dies after losing control of bike on Wicklow road

Gardaí said the 42-year-old lost control of his bike just after midnight.

A 42-YEAR-old motorcyclist has been killed in a road crash in Wicklow.

The incident occurred just after midnight at Cronebeg, Aughrim. Gardaí said the male motorcyclist lost control of his bike.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to St Columcille’s Hospital in Loughlinstown where a post mortem will take place today.

The road is closed to facilitate an examination by forensic collision investigators.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact Arklow Garda Station on 0402 26320, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
