Motorcyclist in his 30s dies in crash on Kildare road

The collision between the motorcycle and a car happened just before 3pm today.

A MOTORCYLIST IN his 30s has died in a crash in Kildare this afternoon.

The crash happened just before 3pm on the R449 road in Celbridge, just off the M4, when the motorcycle and a car collided.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road remains closed as a forensic examination of the scene is carried out.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to the crash to come forward; anyone with information is asked to contact Leixlip Garda station on 01 – 666 7800, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

The death brings to 20 the number of motorcyclists who have died on Ireland’s roads so far this year.
