Murder investigation launched after man found dead in north Belfast

The victim, a fifty-year-old man, was discovered by a relative.

THE PSNI HAVE launched a murder investigation after a fifty-year-old man was found dead at a house in north Belfast earlier today.

The victim, named as Basil McAfee, was discovered by a relative at a house in the Henderson Avenue area at around 1pm this afternoon.

He had last been seen on the road at around 4pm yesterday, and officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area in the intervening hours to get in contact.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out to determine the exact cause of death.

Detectives at Antrim Road Police Station are investigating — they can be contacted on 0845 600 8000.
