Man arrested after 20-year-old dies in Naas fight

It happened at around 10.20pm last night at Harbour View in the Co Kildare town.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the death of a 20-year-old man, who died after an altercation with another man in Naas last night.

It happened at around 10.20pm last night at Harbour View in the Co Kildare town.

Gardaí say a “number of youths” became involved in an altercation with another man.

The 20-year-old received head injuries, and was unconscious when gardaí arrived.

He was taken to Naas Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

A 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been taken for questioning to Naas Garda Station.

Forensic tests will take place at the scene today. The office of the State Pathologist has also been notified, and a post mortem is due to take place later.
