75 new regional jobs created through reward scheme

The new jobs will be made by three companies across Portarlington, Kinvara and Co. Longford.

75 NEW JOBS are to be created by three companies across three locations as part an initiative to use the Irish Diaspora to boost foreign direct investment.

The jobs were created through the Connect Ireland company and its ‘Succeed in Ireland’ initiative which provides a financial reward for Irish people who play an introductory role in bringing new jobs to Ireland.

Michigan-based industrial supplier The Magni Group is to create 50 of the jobs in Portarlington when it opens a new manufacturing plant and R&D lab in the town. The 40,000 square foot facility is being developed with room to expand to 80,000 square feet over five years.

15 further jobs have been confirmed for Kinvara, Co. Galway with Flagship Management deciding to locate the EMEA headquarters of its maritime consultancy and recruitment business in the town.

The third regional jobs boost announced today is in Co. Longford where energy trading consultancy firm Ark Energy Consulting is to hire 10 new people as it expands its Italian based company.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny was present at the announcement and welcomed the jobs as a welcome boost for the local communities:

Every job that is created through Connect Ireland, under the Succeed in Ireland Initiative, is a job that may not have come to Ireland without the intervention of a ‘connector’.

Each of the companies was referred to Connect Ireland by a registered individual who put the investor in contact with Connect Ireland when they learned that they were looking towards international expansion. The financial reward for the individual is directly based on the number of jobs created.

In the case of The Magni Group, for example, a local man is to receive a reward of up to €75,000 after putting the company directors in touch with Connect Ireland.
