TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE – OMEN OF CHANGE
Its eclipse time again with a Total Lunar Eclipse on the 21st December . The Lunar Eclipse is felt immediately and the new energy is likely to come to fruition within the month. It is an omen of changes on the way; it exposes hidden possibilities that are about to surface. The Mind (Moon) is being triggered to bring transformation to our physical reality (Earth). Through meditation we can use this glimpse at the shadows to tune into the innate powers within.

During an eclipse we get an opportunity to penetrate to a deeper place in ourselves in the quest for spirit. It is a time for liberation from what has been completed and an initiation into what needs to be developed. Difficulties arise if we don’t want to let go or don’t like the insecurity due to lack of experience in the new territory opening up. Our discontent becomes a bridge between the material and the spiritual world where we are compelled to create balance. We all know when changes have to be made but oftentimes we wait until we are forced. Experiences that shock us into doing what we knew all along was necessary are seldom welcomed. Yet, if we keep doing the same things we can only expect to get the same results. Eclipses are thresholds for a shift in old paradigms to take place. They bring opportunity for life changing events that raise awareness and enhance our ability to evolve. Wherever an eclipse touches we feel compelled to make changes and now we have to ask what within us, that used to shine, needs to die?

PENUMBRA eclipses occur when the Moon’s path crosses the wider less dense Earths shadow, where the light is only slightly dimmed.
PARTIAL eclipses occur when the Moon passes through the Umbra darker part of the Earth’s shadow
TOTAL eclipses when the Moon is fully immersed

Eclipses are moments of darkness when the Sun, Moon and Earth align with each other as the Earth moves around the Sun and the Moon circles the Earth. When the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth on a New Moon day there will be a Solar Eclipse if the Moon is close to the Lunar Nodes. The Lunar Eclipse at 5degrees Gemini makes this spot very sensitive to exposure of what is hidden. These Eclipses are on the Gemini/Sagittarius axis ruled by Mercury and Jupiter. A Ketu Eclipse takes away what needs to be taken. What will come up will be a source of transformation as we face our darkness and discover our wisdom at the inner depths of ourselves.

When the quality of light being received by our planet gets temporarily disrupted we are all influenced by the change. It may not be dramatic or obvious enough to make news headlines anymore but our ancestors put great importance on any significant changes in the heavens and especially eclipses. The time of the eclipses rarely brings a big event and instead their impact is felt on an inner level that raises awareness about the need to take a change of direction. For any action to be taken we must first become aware at a mental level of what is needed and only from there can we begin the transformation.

There is a new cycle beginning that will take approximately 18 years to get through one cycle and every 9 years we go through a dance of one experience to its opposite. The present moment is a direct consequence of what happened 9 years ago. Anything born at the time of an eclipse is rarely without its controversy!

Eclipses are traditionally seen as a time to dethrone the kings and political leaders of countries under the eye of the eclipse are likely to have their positions seriously challenged during the next few months.

REMEDY
An Eclipse is a time to recharge when deep insights can become available and solutions to old problems emerge. Postpone any major undertakings as this is a time for expansion at an inner level. Meditation during an eclipse on what you would like to grow will give excellent results. Recite mantra e.g. AUM or any holy name.

” The best thing to do during this period is to purify oneself by bathing in a holy river and/or chanting the Holy Names of God. This is also an excellent time to give charity to worthy causes. The best of causes is of course a God-conscious one”.

· Any planet directly impacted by the eclipse will bring major change to the people and situations ruled by that planet.

· The sign that rises at the start of the eclipse will indicate the need that has awakened based on the house that has gotten activated and will play a crucial role in deciding the events for the next 18 years.
