THE FAMILY AND friends of Nick Alexander, who was killed in the terror attack on Bataclan theatre in Paris, have paid an emotional tribute to him as the UK Coroner delivered its verdict on his death.

His ex-girlfriend Helen Wilson described him as the “love of her life” and spoke about how he died in her arms after he was shot twice or three times.

Alexander (35) was a merchandiser for the Eagles of Death Metal, the group performing when two attackers from the so-called Islamic State terror group attacked the theatre with explosives and kalashnikovs.

89 people were killed in the attack on the theatre with a further 31 killed in five other attacks across the city.

Seven terrorist were also killed during the attacks, with Saleh Abdeslam now facing charges of terrorist murder in France after being captured in Brussels.

Nick Alexander was the only British victim of the attacks and his death will now be recorded by the UK coroner as being ‘unlawfully killed’.

During a hearing in Essex Coroner’s Court today, Helen Wilson described how she tried to save his life. The pair had been in a relationship until 2006 but had remained friends and were in Paris together.

“I twisted my body around and gave him mouth-to-mouth. I was telling him not to leave me and I love him,” she said according to Sky News.

After the hearing, the victim’s sister Zoe Alexander also spoke outside the court, describing him as a “strong, gentle and funny man”.

On 13 November last year, our precious Nick along with 88 others lost his life in an indiscriminate act of terror at the Bataclan Theatre. Nick was a much loved son, brother, uncle and friend. A strong, gentle generous and funny man who lived his life to the full, we are blessed to have had him in our lives and we miss him beyond measure.
