BACKSTREET BOYS SINGER Nick Carter was arrested on assault charges after a fight outside a bar in Florida, police said today.

Carter, 35, was with another person, Michael Papayans, last night in a bar called Hog’s Breath Saloon in Key West, according to a police report obtained by TheJournal.ie.

It said a bartender realised they were intoxicated and refused to serve them.

Carter and Papayans became angry and ignored requests for them to leave, so they were escorted out, it is alleged.

Outside the bar Papayans hit a bouncer and Carter grabbed another by the throat, the report claimed.

Skylar Carden [the bouncer] was standing inside the property in a non-combative way. Carter approached him and started yelling within inches from his face.
Carden extended his arms in an attempt to get Carter out of his face. Carter grabbed him by the throat, Carden immediately pushed him away. Carden, along with other bouncers took Carter to the ground.
The surveillance video, physical evidence and witness statements confirm that Carter hit Carden.

At one point in the police bodycam footage, Carter says he had wanted to “have a couple of drinks” and “go on the microphone and sing,” and offered to apologise to the manager.

Sir, my name is Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys. I’m fucking, I’m a singer…
All I’m asking is a second, and a chance to rectify this situation, and to talk to the owner or manager of this place…because I don’t want all this shit…

On arriving at the scene, the arresting officer reported that Carter and Papayans “appeared intoxicated” and were “slurring their words.”

At the end of the police footage, Carter can be heard expressing remorse for his alleged role in the brawl, after being given a chance to address the bar owner directly.

All I want to say is I am genuinely sorry for causing you any harm tonight.

Carter will appear before a judge later today.
