Man (40s) who was arrested following murder of Nicola Collins released

GARDAÍ HAVE RELEASED a man arrested in the wake of the killing of 39-year-old single mother Nicola Collins.

Nicola was found with serious head and neck injuries at a house on Popham’s Road in the Farranree area of Cork City at 3am yesterday morning.

The man, aged in his 40s, was subsequently arrested close to the scene and detained at Mayfield Garda Station in connection with the investigation.

A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
