1. #MORE TAPES: The HSE is investigating how phone calls were recorded at an ambulance control centre, the Irish Independent reports. However, only internal phone calls were taped.
2. #GARDAÍ: Garda whisteblower Sergeant Maurice McCabe has been harassed by colleagues at Mullingar Garda Station, the Examiner reports. This includes “whisteblower” being added to a list of staff at the station.
3. #MENTAL HEALTH: The Psychiatric Nurses Association has called for a review of psychiatric services after it claimed that dozens have taken their own life after being refused help, the Examiner reports.
4. #BUDGET 2015: Following yesterday’s ESRI report that recommended an end to austerity budgets, it is reported that government is considering to introduce tax cuts. The Irish Independent reports these this will be aimed at middle-income families.
5. IRAN: The United States has refused to grant a visa to Iran’s newly appointed UN ambassador, Hamid Aboutalebi, who has been linked to the 1979 hostage crisis.
6. SPACEWALK: A computer outage at the International Space Station may require a spacewalk by astronauts. It also threatens to delay next week’s launch of a commercial supply ship for NASA.
7. #COMMUTERS: Over the last seven years there has been an 87 per cent increase in the number of people cycling to work in Dublin, a new report details.
8. #MH370: The co-pilot of missing Malaysian airliner MH370 attempted to make a mid-flight call from his mobile phone just before the plane vanished from radar screens, investigators say.
9. #BABY: A 9-month-old baby in Pakistan accused of attempted murder has had the case against him dropped, BBC News reports. He had appeared in court on other charges of threatening police and interfering in state affairs.
