1. #O CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN: Actor Robin Williams has been found dead at his home. He was 63-years-old.

2. #LEAVING CERT: Social conditions still plays a large part in whether or not students attend third-level education, a new report has found. It recommends that the  senior cycle should be reformed to equip young people for lifelong learning

3. #UKRAINE: Russia has announced that it will send a ‘humanitarian convoy’ into east Ukraine. It is feared it could be used as a cover for sending troops into the region.

4. #ASLYUM: A working group will be set up later this year to review the system of direct provision, the Irish Times reports. Supports for children and access to third-level education are among the issues to be examined.

5. #IN THE MONEY: The Irish Independent reports that Minister Paschal Donohoe has reassured private sector workers that they will benefit from any recovery in the economy. It follows Brendan Howlin’s comments at the weekend on public sector pay.

6. #LONDON: Police in the UK are appealing for the public’s help finding a missing Irishman. John Dowdall (37) from Clare was last seen on 1 August in Cricklewood, London.

7. #TOBACCO: The Government is coming under increased pressure to scrap plans for plain packaging on cigarettes. A letter, seen by the Irish Examiner, from 27 MEPs to the Taoiseach warns it could harm Ireland’s economic recovery.

8. #PAYBACK TIME: The IMF has said that we can repay our loans early. RTÉ reports that a letter from the mission chief for Ireland to Fianna Fáil’s Michael McGrath said that no fee will apply.
