Nine people charged over Cavan-Monaghan ecstasy raid

Nine people have been charged in relation to a seizure of a “considerable amount” of ecstasy and other controlled drugs, along with a large quantity of cash, earlier today.

NINE PEOPLE ARRESTED this morning in a search-and-arrest operation are expected to appear before a sitting of Virginia District Court tomorrow morning.

All nine people arrested – six men and three women, aged between their mid 20s to early 40s – have been charged in relation to a seizure of a “considerable amount” of ecstasy and other controlled drugs, along with a large quantity of cash, in the Cavan-Monaghan region.

The nine are being held at various Garda stations throughout the two counties, under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Officers have not said precisely where the raid took place.
