No sign of teenager who escaped from garda station while on 'smoke break'

The teen escaped over a wall at a Dublin garda station last week, and hasn’t been seen since.

GARDAÍ SAY THEY are still on the hunt for a teenager who escaped from custody at Balbriggan Station in north Dublin last week.

The young man – believed to be aged in his late teens and from the Dublin area – hopped over a wall at the station after telling officers he needed a cigarette break, a garda spokesperson confirmed to TheJournal.ie.

It happened on Monday 15 July, and a large-scale search effort was immediately launched by officers to try and relocate the missing teen.

According to the spokesperson, enquiries are still ongoing but there’s been no contact with him in the ten days since the escape.

Gardaí wouldn’t disclose what the teenager was being questioned over.
