Family's delight as woman missing for over a year found in Spain

Nollaig O’Connor, who is described as a “vulnerable adult” hadn’t been in contact with relatives since May of last year.

THE FAMILY OF a Fermanagh woman missing since last summer have spoken of their delight after she was found safe and well in Spain yesterday.

Nollaig O’Connor, who is described as a “vulnerable adult” hadn’t been in contact with home since May of last year.

Her family launched a social media campaign to find the 37-year-old, appealing to people heading to the continent over the summer to keep an eye out for her, and leave ‘missing’ posters in Irish bars.

There were unconfirmed reports that she was in Munich last August.

In a surprise development yesterday, an Enniskillen businessman, Nicky Cassidy, spotted Nollaig in the street and contacted her family.

Relatives then flew out to meet her, and she is expected home later today…

Sinn Féin MP for Fermanagh Michelle Gildernew said the development was “great news” and paid tribute to everyone involved in the search.
