North Belfast homes evacuated in bomb alert

Homes in the Blackdam Court area of North Belfast have been evacuated since lunchtime over a suspicious object in a car.

A NUMBER OF HOMES in north Belfast have been evacuated following a security alert in the area this afternoon.

The alert began shortly before noon, when police were alerted to a suspicious object in a car in the Blackdam Court area.

PSNI and Army Technical Officers were deployed and remain at the scene this evening.

There are no further details at present.
