Woman allegedly 'set up fake fundraising scheme' for Newtown victims

The 37-year-old from the Bronx allegedly claimed to be the aunt of one of the victims.

A BRONX WOMAN is accused of lying to investigators and pretending to be a relative of one of the victims of the Newtown shootings.

Nouel Alba (37) was arrested yesterday, Today reports, for lying to FBI agents in connection with an investigation into a Newtown fundraising scheme that was found to be fraudulent.

Alba denied to NBC that she had posed as the aunt of one of the children killed in the shooting, saying she never sent any message on Facebook. It is alleged that she pretended to be Pozner’s aunt and requested donations through her Paypal account. She denies doing this.

The businesswoman appeared before a magistrate and was released on a $50,000 bond. She could face jail and a fine if found guilty.
