Everything else happening in the Dáil:

  • Eamon Gilmore fulfill’s his Táinaisterial (not a word) duties at Leaders’ Questions at 12 noon.
  • How’s our relationship with Europe? Deputies get chance to add their tuppence worth as they make statements on Ireland’s Engagement with Europe. That starts at 10.45 am with a representative from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade taking the lead.
  • TDs debated the the Health Identifiers Bill on Tuesday. They’re at it again today in Morning Business.
  • The bill to dissolve the County Enterprise Boards is in its final stages and a representative from the Department of Jobs will begin debate on it this morning.
  • A new framework to provide a new statutory framework to govern the HSE’s expenditure, the Health Service Executive (Financial Matters) Bill 2013, is due for second stage debate under the Department of Health.
  • TDs will also resume Tuesday’s debate on the Health Identifiers Bill which aims to give the Minister more information on health professionals.
  • Topical Issues kicks-off at 4.42 pm with the agenda to be finalised later.

Everything else that’s happening in the Committees

  • Tomorrow is Rare Diseases Day. The Committee on Health and Children will talk to the Genetic and Rare Disorders Organisation, the Special Needs Parents Association and others about their experiences and concerns from 9.30 am in Room 2.
  • New legislation to cut state funding to political parties and reform allowances is to be debated at 10am. Members of the Public Expenditure and Reform (Sub-Committee) will go to Committee Room 3 to talk about the Oireachtas (Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices) (Amendment) Bill 2013.
