Oireachtas TV moves to channel 207 on UPC

A positive public reaction to the channel, which screens live proceedings from the Dáil chamber among others, has seen it move up the listings as the new term gets under way.

UPC HAS ANNOUNCED that the Oireachtas television channel is moving to channel 207 on its service from today.

As the Dáil resumed this afternoon, the channel has moved further up the UPC channel listings following a positive public reaction to the service which broadcasts a mix of footage from the Dáil, Seanad and committee meetings to all UPC subscribers.

The channel, which was launched in November of last year, was previously located at 801 on the channel listings.

“This is a strong endorsement of the importance of Oireachtas TV amongst viewers,” Ceann Comhairle Seán Barrett said today.

“I am grateful to UPC for their continued support and the confidence they display by moving the Parliamentary channel to a new and prestigious slot on their platform.

“It is important that the Irish public should be aware of the workings of their Parliament through every possible media outlet.”
