Teenager remains critical after serious assault outside pub in Cork

Gardaí are urgently appealing for witnesses to come forward.

GARDAÍ AT MAYFIELD in Cork are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault which occurred outside a licensed premises on the Old Youghal Road on Saturday night.

A 19-year-old man received serious injuries in the assault, which occurred at around 10pm on 10 June.

He was taken to Cork University Hospital to receive treatment.

In a statement today, gardaí described his condition as critical.

Gardaí are urging anyone who was in the Old Youghal Road vicinity between 9.30pm and 10.30pm on Saturday 10 June, or anyone who can assist with the investigation, to contact Mayfield Garda Station on 021 455 8510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
