Man, 30, dies in Donegal crash

The 30-year-old van driver was pronounced dead at the scene last night.

A 30-YEAR-OLD van driver was killed in a crash in Donegal last night.

His vehicle collided with a car on the N56 at Brenter in Dunkinelly at about 10.45pm. The sole occupant of the second vehicle – the 21-year-old driver – was injured in the incident but his condition is described as not serious.

The deceased was removed to Letterkenny General Hospital where a post-mortem exam will be carried out.

The road is currently closed to facilitate technical and forensic exams. Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Ballyshannon garda station on 071 985 8530.

*A previous version of this article stated a 47-year-old woman was in the second vehicle with the 21-year-old driver, as per official details received by gardaí. The Press Office has advised media outlets of the correction.
