Open thread: What Irish tourist sites should not be missed?

The Huffington Post says tourists should skip Dublin Castle, but what do you think visitors should see while in Ireland?

US WEBSITE The Huffington Post has recommended that visitors to Ireland should skip seeing Dublin Castle.

In a slideshow entitled 9 European Attractions to Miss, the site says that although it’s “easy to get carried away assuming you’re about to see a cool dungeon and the place where the knights used to pout hot oil on attackers”, anyone with these expectations will be disappointed with their visit to Dublin Castle.

“Anyone interested in the history of Ireland and especially of its contentious relationship with Britain will be entertained, but those who hoped to see an actual castle will feel ripped off,” it says.

The site’s list of tourist sites to miss also includes the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen, the inside of Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia, and the Mona Lisa painting in the Louvre.

But if you were to recommend a tourist site, monument or attraction visitors should NOT miss in Ireland, what would you choose? Add your suggestions and comments to the open thread below:
