FINE GAEL’S SUPPORT is rising and rising and has now reached 30%, according to the latest Sunday Business Post/Red C opinion poll.

The poll puts Enda Kenny’s party up by two percentage points since last month’s poll and up by five since the poll previous.

It’s the first opinion poll since this month’s budget but the Labour Party has suffered a drop of three points. The junior coalition partner now sits at a support level of 7%.

There was good news too for Fianna Fáil which has seen its support rise by two points to a support level of 20%.

The poll suggests that Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil now have the combined support of half the electorate.

Sinn Féin continues to be the third most popular party in the republic and sees its support remain unchanged at 16%.

Independents/Others are down by one point since the last poll and command a combined support of 27%.

Broken down, that support includes 22% for Independents, 2% for Renua, 2% for the Green Party, 1% for AAA-PBP and 1% for Others.

The poll was taken between Monday and Wednesday of this week.
