This is what your bones look like if you have osteoporosis

EATING ENOUGH CALCIUM and vitamin D is essential for good bone health, as this project Saoirse O’Keeffe of Loreto College in Foxrock, Dublin set out to prove.

While undertaking her project, she asked people about how much calcium and vitamin D they consume everyday, and discovered that some of them were at risk of osteoporosis.

This is a bone disease that can leave people vulnerable to fractures.

Here, she demonstrates the difference between a healthy bone and one from a person with osteoporosis.
