Tributes paid to photographer who died after fall at Andy Murray's wedding rehearsal

The tennis star tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend in Dunblane yesterday.

A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER died after a fall at the rehearsals for tennis star Andy Murray’s wedding to his longtime girlfriend Kim Sears.

The tragic incident occurred at Dunblane Cathedral.

The death of the Scottish photographer Gordon Jack was widely mourned on social media.

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said:

STV news reported that Gordon became suddenly ill and fell over while taking photographs as Murray arrived at the cathedral for the rehearsal.

He was brought to hospital but passed away yesterday. He is survived by his wife and children.

The professional photographer’s final tweet was sent from the cathedral:

Murray and Sears married at Dunblane Cathedral yesterday, after 10 years together. The Scottish tennis pro, who grew up in Dunblane, wore a kilt for the ceremony.

Unlike many sporting celebrities, they chose not to sell their wedding photographs for millions of pounds to celebrity magazines Hello! and OK!.
