Antrim police appeal for information about serious assault on young woman

Detectives in Antrim are seeking information about a serious sexual assault which took place in the Lagmore Avenue area during the early hours of this morning.

DETECTIVES IN ANTRIM are investigating a serious sexual assault which took place in the Lagmore Avenue area close to Altan Park in Dunmurry during the early hours of this morning.

The PSNI have confirmed that shortly before 1.30am it was reported that female aged in her 20s was assaulted in the area.

Police are working to establish the details of this incident and are asking anyone who may have been in the Lagmore Avenue or Altan Park area and who may have seen the female or who saw anything suspicious to contact them immediately.

Detecctives are keen to identify a male described as being approximately 25-years-old, of thin build, shaven head and distinctive dark eye brows. The man spoke with a local accent, and was wearing grey coloured tracksuit bottoms and a grey coloured hooded top.
