Police issue appeal over unprovoked attack on teenage girl in London

CCTV shows a 16-year-old girl being punched unconscious in an unprovoked attack by a man in broad daylight.

POLICE IN LONDON are appealing for information about a vicious, unprovoked attack on a 16-year-old girl last week.

CCTV footage of the street outside Black Lion pub in Plaistow, Newham, shows a man running up behind the girl and violently punching her in the head, causing her to fall to the ground unconscious.

The attack happened just after midday on 13 November.

The girl, 16, was then brought by ambulance to Newham General Hospital where she was treated for bruising and cuts to her head and face. She was released later that afternoon.

The suspect is described as black male of about 25 to 30 years of age, 6 feet tall, of a muscular build, with a shaved head.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the man seen in the video or the attack to contact detectives at the Newham Violent Crime Unit on 020 8217 5890, or they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
