Police seeking information on armed robbery

A man was threatened during the robbery, which took place in West Belfast this afternoon.

THE PSNI IS investigating an armed robbery that took place in West Belfast this afternoon.

The armed robbery was reported at the Andersonstown Road area.

Police said that at around 12.55pm, it was reported that a male was leaving a business premises in the area when he was approached by a male wearing a dark coloured scarf.

It is believed the man was threatened during the incident and dropped a box he was holding that contained a sum of money.

Police said the suspect made off with the money in a van, which was close to the scene, towards the Slieve Gallion area.

The vehicle was discovered in the St Agnes area a short time after the incident.

Detectives are appealing for information on the movements or whereabouts of a silver Hyunai Lantra, registration number UIL1716, over the past fortnight in relation to this incident.
