I decided to pack in my crap job and am traveling around south east Asia for 3 months!! I’m one of the lucky few with no mortgage or family to worry about, best decision I’ve ever made!!

Brought kids to Tayto park last week 2 kids 4 adults. paid €64 in then found when ya get inside this covers very little. You have to pay 2-3€ per ride per child then go to a restaurant where mediocre food is slopped out €45. You have to purchase tickets for each ride and stand in line waiting for tickets then stand in line getting on the ride! I find the place bordering fraudulent. Been to a few theme parks around the world and when you pay in its free after that. Only in ireland will we try extract the last penny at every given opportunity. In portugal we could have 2-3 evening dinners with my family including wine desserts etc… I will not be rushing back and it re-enforces the idea of going abroad. We have a long way to go before we come close to
Catering for tourism all though saying that super value have some good hotel deals but it’s all downhill when ya go outside that!

Im going home in 21 days to Ireland from a year in Korea. Im staying in Ire for 20 days. During thay time I will be going to Spain with my best friends for a few days. And after the whole 21 days…its back to another year of hakwon work for me in Seoul. I cant wait to see my beautiful island again. Eire Abuuuu!!!!

Went to a charming old town in Poland called Poznan, then spent some time by the seaside in Gdansk… definitely the kind of holiday where you need a holiday afterwards to recover!

I think there is some cheap holidays in Ireland, and we as a family have holidayed in both northern and southern Ireland for years and have had fantastic holidays, this said however for the same price we can have a week in sunny Portugal in a 4* hotel, with a choice of pools :) When my girls were younger I loved the convenience of holidaying in Ireland, stuff everything into a car and away you go, now that the are a little older and can swim etc it’s nice to go abroad and know that you are actually going to see the sun !!!

Going to Belarus in a week to meet family, already been in spain and prague this summer and taking quick break to Wexford this coming weekend. Will probably spend a few days in London before the summer is out too. Only possible to travel this much when accommodation is free!! :)

Had a week in Vegas then 2 weeks in the Dominican republic in April. Granted it was a honeymoon so that’s it until a friends wedding in Rome September 2013.

It’s been three years since I’ve been able to buy a meal or a cup of coffee out. Where could I go that costs less than a cup of coffee?

On the other hand, when the sun shines, our near by beach is as good as anyone’s. Our fresh summer veg cook up a treat, better tasting than anything store bought. Our sunsets are to die for. It’s not so hard to be hard up when you’re already as close to heaven on earth as you can be.

Went to China for three weeks! Great experience.

Wow! All this debate sounds like it had the makings of a head wrecking question on next years project Maths exam! Whereever you go you will get cheap and expensive restaurants. I notice a lot more Irish restaurants are offering deals. Even the golf clubs are inviting people in for dinner! Even women! Shocking stuff really:-)

I is in its arse cheaper to holiday in Ireland. Just beause you can bang ot some random stat doesnt mean its true. I can make up stats too, Chuck Norris is the cause of 39% of all wars in the world. See not true and random its easy. A meal for 2 in a Dublin restaurant for example is about 80 euro, now there is a fact and I have a reciept to prove it.

Anyway can’t take the time off as i am trying to cover 3 jobs with the public service embargo there is no chance of cover so I won’t take my entitlement for leave just keep going with my 50 – 60 hour weeks and still read on here how we all all lazy s**ts in the health service who should all be sacked or have pay cuts.

A friend of mine blagged 4 of us a week in a spanish apt of a friend of hers for feckall money in May. Flights were cheap enough, weather was wonderful. I came back relaxed and happy and I would love to go back again.

I spent less for that holiday than I did on a weekend in Killarney!

No holiday plans yet, but I hope to head off and visit a couple of cities in Europe over the space of a week later in the summer or in autumn.

Been to Gran Canaria in last month. Was brilliant. That’s Summer. Winter: off to Salt Lake City, Utah, for two weeks skiing over Christmas; business class British Airways there n back. My husband knows how to spoil me.

Thinking of dropping everything in the next few months and heading off to Torres Strait Islands, New Caledonia, and New Zealand.
