Poll: Do you think calorie counts should be put on menus?

The proposal is aimed at helping people make healthy choices, but do you agree with it?

RESTAURANTS ARE BEING encouraged to check the calorie count of their foods as part of a move to put the information on menus.

Menu-Cal enables restaurants to calculate the calories in their food “without any cost implications”. Chefs use the system by putting in the ingredients used in meals.

While the intention behind eventually having calorie counts on menus is to help people make healthy choices, some chefs are opposed to the idea. Oliver Dunne of Bon Appetit said the proposal is “farcical”.
