INDEPENDENT TD LUKE Ming Flanagan is today launching a bill to legalise cannabis use and allow people to grow their own plants.

The Government has said it is considering legalising a cannabis-based drug for medicinal use but it has no plans to look at regulating it for recreational use. Proponents argue that regulating it could reduce crime and yield money for the Exchequer but opponents warn that cannabis can lead to serious health problems.

So today we’re asking: should cannabis be legalised in Ireland?
