A TD is seeking extra powers for the Public Accounts Committee to compel the outgoing chief to appear before it.

THE OUTGOING CHIEF Executive of the Central Remedial Clinic, Brian Conlan, has said that he will not appear before the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee tomorrow following his resignation this week.

Deputy Shane Ross has said he is to seek extra powers for the PAC to compel Conlan to turn up.

CRC executives are due to appear before the PAC tomorrow to discuss the recent top-up scandal, during which it emerged that senior staff were paid extra monies from funds raised by a registered charity.
