Poll: Should suspects in garda custody get more legal protection?

A Supreme Court ruling suggests clarification is needed, what do you think?

THE SUPREME COURT has ruled that anyone in garda custody cannot be questioned until they’ve spoken to a solicitor if they’ve asked to speak to one.

The ruling comes after a conviction for attempted rape was quashed because the man in question didn’t receive the legal representation he’d asked for in time.

The Irish Council of Civil Liberties has said the ruling shows that the Government needs to change the law in this area, but what do you think.
