Poll: Does the cost of treatment stop you from going to the dentist?

The Irish Dental Association says the oral health of the nation is suffering because of state cuts.

MORE PEOPLE ARE being hospitalised for dental infections - infections that could be prevented had the patient seen their dentist earlier, according to a new study by the Irish Dental Association.

State cuts

Chief Executive of the Irish Dental Association Fintan Hourihan said it has been the long held view of dentists that significant damage is being done to the oral health of the nation and this is clearly linked to cuts in state supports for patients.

Earlier this week the Minister for Health Leo Varadakar indicated the Government ‘might’ restore the benefits.

We want to know about your experiences of going to the dentist in Ireland.
