IS IRELAND’S ‘RIP-off Republic’ image after fading – or do you think the country still has far to go?
A survey of overseas visitors by Fáilte Ireland shows that our rating as a ‘value-for-money’ destination has increased from -11 per cent three years ago to +24 per cent in 2012.
This is according to visitors to Ireland last year, four out of ten of whom said the country gives ‘good to very good’ value for money.
But how do the people who live here every day feel about this?
Some may agree with this assessment, and feel that post-recession, companies and services are being more realistic with their prices.
However, others may feel that not a huge amount has changed from the Celtic Tiger days.
