DO YOU THINK there should be more news reports in Irish on RTÉ’s Six-One News?

Minister of State for Gaeilge, the Gaeltacht and the Islands Joe McHugh has said that often a report from a Gaeltacht region appears on the Six-One News in English, with the same report appearing on TG4 an hour later in Irish.

“Why can’t RTÉ broadcast the original report in Irish and include subtitles in English?” he asked, “I think they can do that; the technology is there and I know the willingness is there.”

So what’s your verdict? Should there be more Irish language news reports on the Six-One News?
