THE FIRST WATER charge bills will be issued from April of this year.

After almost a year of protests, people across the country continue to take to the streets to rally against the charges.

This month has also seen four protesters being jailed for breaching an order to stay 20 metres from Irish Water works.

Late last year, the Government reduced the cost of water charges following sustained protests.

With water charges due to kick in this year, are protests absolutely necessary, or do we not need them anymore?
