Poll: Who would you prefer as the next Labour leader?

The field is narrowing.

LABOUR HAS UNTIL Friday to finalise its candidates for the leadership of the party.

For a TD’s name to be put to the party grassroots membership, potential leaders need their name nominated by a TD and seconded by one as well.

Given that there are only seven Labour TDs, there isn’t much wiggle room here for wannabe leaders. Speaking on The Late Late Show last week, Alan Kelly was unable to say which party TDs  would support him.

It’s led to Brendan Howlin suddenly looking like the favourite to take over from Joan Burton as Labour TDs look to get the whole thing done and dusted.

So today’s question, Who would prefer as the next Labour leader?

Poll Results:

Brendan Howlin (6760)
Another Labour TD (5296)
Alan Kelly (1989)
