Poll: At what age would you like to retire?

Remember: the less years you work, the less valuable your pension will be.

THE PENSION AGE is set to rise to 68 by 2028, the Irish Independent reports, which would make it the highest in the world.

Because people’s life expectancy is going up, the age at which you can receive a pension is also increasing. But that means that the years a person must work during their lifetime, perhaps while in ill-health, has also increased.

There are also those who wish to continue to work after the age of 66 (the current pensionable age) but are prevented once they reach that retirement age.

So we’re asking: At what age would you like to retire?

Poll Results:

Younger than 66 (13341)
66 (1735)
Older than 68 (1661)
68 (452)
67 (360)
