TWO ANIMAL WELFARE charities in Limerick are to receive part of a €500k windfall thanks to a woman who left the money in her will.
Elizabeth Burke of Dublin 4 left €500k to the Limerick branch of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. But as no such charity exists, the money is to be split instead between Limerick Animal Welfare and Limerick Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the Irish Examiner reports today.
Some people may not consider leaving a legacy to a charity in their will for various reasons; some may leave a small amount, while others may be in the position to leave a large donation to their chosen charity.
