Depends how much money I have when I’m older

Ha, none. Won’t have anything left by the time I croak it.

If I die without dependents, I plan to leave everything to two types of charities 50/50 – those that care for the elderly and those that care for animals.

I have a family and I more or less live and breath for them. Anything I have will go to my kids. They will need all the help they can get if they still intend to live here when they are older.

If I, by then, acquire a pot in which to urinate in, I will leave that to charity…

If I died right now everything i have would go to charity , so that’s 50 cent for Barnardos and 50 cent for dogs trust …. And an ESB bill . They can split that too

How do we know this lady didn’t leave money to other organisations, such as ones mentioned here already?! We don’t… we’ve learned of this 500K due to the fact the initial organisation does not exist so it was decided to split between two Limerick animal welfare charities. Stop assuming she didn’t leave other funds to relatives or indeed, a charity for humans – and either way the lady is entitled to leave it to whom she pleases. Limerick Animal Welfare do amazing work, and as also mentioned above, animals need assistance too.

Lucky to be paying my bills never mind leaving money to charity! Lol

My family would get all my money if I had any at the time of my death.

It is her money and if she wants to support animal welfare, that was her choice to make.

I prefer my dogs to a lot people that are out there.

When I see the levels of greed and corruption in most (human) charities, with wages of up to €400,000, I would not hesitate to leave a substantial amount to animal welfare groups, because I have found, from personal experience, a great deal more compassion, sincerity and transparency , and no greed whatsoever.
I would, of course try to help out, genuine people that I know, who are facing ever increasing expenses, who would probably never ask.
There are too many loudmouth, professional parasites in this country, & it’s high time they were all rooted out.

If I’m onway out every penny is going on hookers and coke.

Something doesn’t sit right with half a million being donated to animal welfare when I think of parents with kids that have special needs who are struggling under a load most of us will never know, or the elderly and homeless

i think theres something seriously wrong with you if you leave half a million euros to bloody cats…i mean did she hate people that much that she could not pick a human charity..like alzimers assoc,enable Ireland,VDP…..and fine leave some to a cat charity but not 500,000 euros…

we should try not to live forever, but we should try to create things that do. and mostly its plastic and nuclear waste. but occasionally we can create something that becomes immortal. we can’t all be newton or Einstein or Bach but in a small way by leaving money to charity we are promoting something bigger then us that will last longer then us (some charities are over 100 years old). we all die, and to die with work unfinished is a tragedy but if our work feeds into the greater work of humanity then we all leave a positive mark on the world, no matter how small.

I would like to leave money to S.V.P..but by the time the Government are finished,there will be nothing left.

I’ll donate to charity while alive, and leave what’s left to my family. Leaving money to charity in a will seems like atonement for not doing enough good while in this world, and I’d rather hope not to harbour such regrets by that stage.
