PEOPLE FOUND WITH a minor amount of drugs for personal use could escape criminal conviction.

The National Drugs Strategy, which will be published later today, looks at decriminalising possession of small quantities of drugs, according to The Irish Times.

It’s understood that a working group will be established to look at alternative approaches to convictions.
