Power outage knocks out businesses in Dublin 8... including the Guinness Storehouse

A cluster of faults have been recorded by the ESB in the Kilmainham area of Dublin.

A POWER OUTAGE in the Dublin 8 area has knocked out businesses in the area, including the Guinness Storehouse.

Hundreds of people were evacuated from the popular tourist site this afternoon and are currently lining the streets waiting to be readmitted.

Speaking to TheJournal.ie, a spokesperson for the Guinness Storehouse confirmed that for “health and safety reasons” they had evacuated the site.

“This is standard procedure in a power outage,” she said, adding that they hope to get the people back into the Guinness Storehouse shortly when power is restored and everything is fully operational again.
