Here's the average price of a home in Ranelagh in 2017

The latest data from Daft.ie.

THE AVERAGE ASKING price of a property in Ranelagh is now almost €650,000, according to the latest figures.

Analysis of listings on Daft.ie across all properties in the area in the third quarter of 2017 puts the average price at €642,777.

The figure places Ranelagh in the top tier of Dublin neighbourhoods for price. It is the eighth most expensive of 118 areas around the capital analysed by Daft.ie, and the third most expensive in Dublin city – behind only Sandymount and Foxrock.

Prices here are more than 60% above the average for Dublin city and county, which currently stands at €394,000.

However, they remain well below their Celtic Tiger peak. At the height of the boom the average price in Ranelagh hit almost €900,000.

Overall, prices in the Dublin 6 neighbourhood have risen by more than 70% since reaching their lowest level in 2012, when the average was €371,830.

That figure outpaces the average increase of 67% citywide. However, it is still significantly less than areas in Dublin 7 and 8 which have seen prices more than double from a lower starting point.
