WOULD YOU LIKE to hear more Irish-based acts on the radio? Well, you just might, if new plans proposed by Labour’s Willie Penrose come to fruition.
Earlier this week, he called for a new quota-regime to be introduced to give at least 30% of airtime to Irish bands and singers.
Instead of hearing the chart toppers such as Taylor Swift and Rihanna, Penrose said important exposure would on the national airwaves would be given to Irish musicians struggling to break into the industry.
