PLANS ARE BEING drawn up for the first ever medically-supervised drug injection centre in Ireland. It requires a legislation change, but the Ana Liffey Drug Project hopes to present its plan for the initiative to the Government next year.
Similar schemes for drug users have worked in over 90 centres around the world, according to Ana Liffey Director Tony Duffin.
Dublin Fine Gael TD Catherine Byrne said yesterday that was something the city badly needed, that she supported the proposal in principle.
What if one opened on your street? Would you be alright with that?
