Poll: Did you register to pay the property tax?

The deadline has come and gone but did you register to pay the new tax?

THE DEADLINE FOR registration to pay the local property tax came and went this week with over 1.5 million households registering for the new tax, indicating a high-level of compliance.

The Revenue Commissioners estimates that when exemptions and houses owned by housing associations and local authorities are added to that number there are around 100,000 properties that have not been registered for the tax and will need to be accounted for.

The administration of the tax by Revenue has widely been acknowledged as the reason for the large number of people complying but there remains significant number of people who oppose the tax and its imposition, arguing it is unfair on already struggling families.

But what about you? Did you register to pay the property tax?
