Man beaten with pool cue in afternoon pub attack

The attackers are described as being well-built and around 6 feet tall.

POLICE IN BELFAST are appealing for information after a man was beaten with a pool cue in an attack in a pub last Thursday afternoon.

The 38-year-old man was sitting in the bar on Norglen Drive in west Belfast at around 2.30pm when he was attacked by two men unknown to him.

“One punched him in the back of the head knocking him to the ground,” Detective Constable Sam McCallum, who is investigating the incident, said in a statement.

“He is then struck a number of times with a pool cue while the other male punches and kicks him.

The pair then flee the bar with another man who had been waiting for them at the door.

The attackers are described as being well-built and around 6′ tall.

One was wearing a purple/burgundy coloured hoody with blue jeans. The second was wearing a light blue hooded top, jeans and a blue baseball cap.

The third was around the same height and wore a red hooded top.

Witnesses or anyone with information are being asked to contact the police service on the non-emergency number 101.
