not so white

A run where you need sunglasses and powder colour to survive

It’s the rainbow run so don’t expect to come out clean.

SO IT’S THE first day of summer and maybe you’re thinking about getting fit but need some motivation…would being doused from head to toe with coloured powder paint inspire you?

Dun Laoghaire’s Rainbow Run launched this week.

It’s a 5k route later in the summer where you’re given a sachet of powder colour and Rainbow Run sunglasses before you start!

These guys look like they loved it;

Over 4,000 took part last year and the organisers are expecting 6,000 this year.

Organiser Dave Foran said,

At intervals along the route you will be bombarded with different colours, until you cross the finish line to a further riot of colour in the powder shower.

The Rainbow Run is more about fun then competition so times aren’t recorded. You are advised to wear white though, not that it will stay that way for long.

O and you can relax about your good whites, the powder is a non-toxic, natural corn-starch based product that doesn’t stain hair or cause injury, and does wash off clothing. Phew!
